IFTING THE MACHINE

To lift the machine, first of all a lifting device is required that has a suitable capacity depen‑
ding on the distance and the height to which the MEWP is to be lifted.

For lifting operations necessary for maintenance or loading onto transport vehicles, only
use machinery (e.g. crane, overhead cranes etc.) and load pick‑up devices (e.g. ropes,
chains, hooks) with suitable capacity and in perfect working order; for the weight of the
machine, consult the paragraph relative to the technical features of the MEWP.
The photograph shown below shows how and where the MEWP must be attached.

When lifting the machine, it must be in transport configuration (extendable structure
completely closed and aligned, outriggers completely lifted and track widened). Diffe‑
rently, the machine would be unbalanced and lifting dangerous.

Never lift the machine with the operator on board.

During lifting, make sure that no‑one is in the area affected by the operations and do not
transit the suspended machine over persons.

Never lift the machine if it is harnessed differently to that shown; if, for example, it is lifted
by attachment to the arm, making use of the devices for anchorage to the ground (above all
not designed to support the weight of the MEWP) or simply passing a strap around any arm
element, the coupling element and other machine parts would be loaded with forces for
which they are not designed. The probability of causing structural damage to the machine
would be very high.
