Upload Configuration from a Power Monitor

Uploading takes the configuration contained within the power monitor and places it in the
database. An upload is typically performed when connecting to an existing power monitor
system for the first time.

To Upload a Power Monitor Configuration
1. Select a power monitor device in the navigation tree System tab, and click Device

Configuration in the device setup screen in the detail pane.

2. Click Upload.

3. To save the settings and close the Device Configuration window, click OK.

Download Configuration to a Power Monitor

Downloading writes the configuration file stored in the database to the configuration
registers contained in the power monitor. Downloading is password protected. The
password for each power monitor is entered into the Device Setup screen, so you do not
need to enter it each time a download occurs.

To Download a Power Monitor Configuration
1. Select a power monitor device in the navigation tree System tab, and click Device

Configuration in the device setup screen in the detail pane.

2. Click Download.

3. To close the Device Configuration window, click OK.

Work with Setpoints

Many Allen-Bradley power monitors use setpoints to monitor parameters and to generate
alarms, control relays, trigger snapshots, and trigger waveforms based on these parameter
values.

To configure setpoints, open the Device Configuration window and click the Setpoints
tab. Enter setpoint information, and then click Download.

Types of Setpoints

Binary setpoints

Over setpoints

To prevent downloading a default configuration to a previously-configured power
monitor, you should always upload first, then make any changes desired, then
download. There must be a valid password entered in the Device Setup screen to
change any configuration settings in the power monitor.

Allen-Bradley power monitors are NOT intended to function as protective relay
devices.
