open the temporary folder into which the downloaded upgrade file was extracted

4. If the installation screen does not automatically appear, then launch the autorun.exe

file in the root folder of the DVD or temporary folder

5. If you are upgrading a version of RSEnergyMetrix software prior to 1.8, then perform

these steps:

.NET Framework 3.5 SP1. From the installation screen, select ‘Install .NET
Framework 3.5 SP1’

Install FactoryTalk Activation Manager

FactoryTalk EnergyMetrix is one software package with multiple
options that are enabled by installing activations. The Manager
software available on the software updates download page also
includes the options such as RT, ChartsPlus, ReportsPlus, and
FTEMOPC. Installing these options does not require reinstalling
the software. These options are enabled simply by installing
additional activations. The software update site does not
contain updates to Microsoft SQL server.

If your installation of FactoryTalk EnergyMetrix software has been customized by a
solution provider (Rockwell Automation or a system integrator), contact the
solution provider before attempting any software update. Updating a customized
installation without the necessary precautions may disable custom additions to the
basic software.

If installing from a downloaded upgrade file, first extract the downloaded zip file
into a temporary folder.

Installation on Windows 2000 Server is no longer supported.
