ficonCfg

Configures the specified FICON database.

SYNOPSIS

ficoncfg --set database port

ficoncfg --reset database

ficoncfg --help

DESCRIPTION

Use this command to configure a FICON database on a specified port. Refer to ficonShow for a
description of the database content.

NOTES

The execution of this command is subject to Virtual Fabric or Admin Domain restrictions that may be in
place. Refer to Chapter 1, "Using Fabric OS Commands" and Appendix A, "Command Availability" for
details.

OPERANDS

This command has the following operands:

port

Specifies the port to be configured. You can specify the port by its port index
number or by a hexadecimal number. Use switchShow for a listing of valid port
index numbers.

--set

Sets the configuration entry.

--reset

Resets the configuration entry to its default value.

database

Specifies the name of the FICON database. The only database currently
supported is the following:

LIRR

Devices registered to receive link incident reports.

EXAMPLES

To set the LIRR database on a port using a decimal index number:

switch:user> ficoncfg --set LIRR 27

To reset the LIRR

switch:user> ficoncfg --reset LIRR

To set the LIRR database using a hexadecimal port number:

switch:user> ficoncfg --set LIRR 0x1b
switch:user> ficonshow LIRR
The Local LIRR database has 0 entries.

Current LIRR device port number: 27 (0x1b)
