Deleting command devices
Delete command devices in the reverse order of the route list definition, starting from those furthest
from the host to those closest to the host.
Figure 75 (page 137) shows an example of deleting command devices.

When deleting command devices from the primary site in the configuration shown in the above
figure, delete command devices from the storage systems on the secondary site first, and then on
the primary site.
From the primary site, if you delete CD1 on the primary storage system before deleting CD2 on
the secondary storage system, you will be unable to delete CD2. If CD1 is accidentally deleted
first, redefine CD1 with the YKBLDCMD command, and then delete CD2.
Deleting command devices registered in a route list
To delete command devices registered in a route list, execute the YKDELCMD command from the
Route Status panel, or execute the YKDELCMD command with the storage system serial number
specified from a script.
In Figure 75 (page 137) , CD1, CD2, CD3 and CD4 are command devices registered in a route list
from the primary site. Even though these are registered in the route list, the command devices
registered in the storage system from the secondary site (CD5, CD6, CD7 and CD8) cannot be
deleted from the primary site. To delete CD5, CD6, CD7 or CD8, either delete them from the
secondary site, or delete it as you would delete a command device not registered in the route list.
