Before you define a copy group, make sure that you decide on values for the following:

DAD ID for the primary site and the secondary site

The examples in this section use the following values:

For the primary site: DADP

For the secondary site: DADS

Prefix for the configuration file name

For details, see

“Setting a prefix for configuration files” (page 121)

Defining the copy group ID and copy group attributes (Continuous Access Journal Z)

To define a Continuous Access Journal Z copy group:
1.

Display the Discover/Define Configuration panel and choose 4 Copy Group Definitions.

The Copy Group Selection List panel is displayed.

2.

Press the F5=Add key to add a Continuous Access Journal Z copy group.

The Add Copy Group panel is displayed.

3.

Specify the Copy Group ID, Device Address Domain (for both Primary and Secondary), and
Copy Group Type (CAJ).

If this is a copy group container definition, specify / for Use Container. If this is not a copy
group container, leave Use Container blank.
