This function disconnects the primary site copy pair from the secondary site copy pair and tests
the secondary site to determine if the DR configuration is operating normally. When the test ends,
you must resynchronize the primary site with the secondary site.

DISPLAY command

An operator command used to display the status of BCM Monitor. You can specify this command
in the MODIFY command to display the current valid value of the parameter in the YKMONOPT
or YKMONCG file and the commands that are waiting to be executed.

DKC serial number

In the HP XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array, a number is assigned to each disk controller (physical
DKC serial number). In the HP XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array, a number is assigned to each
logical DKC (logical DKC serial number).

DLIB

Distribution library.

DSB

Device status byte.

DSORG

Data set organization.

dummy device
number

A temporary device number assigned to a device detected by using the remote scan or NG scan
functionality.

edit mode

A startup mode option for Business Continuity Manager agents. If you start a Business Continuity
Manager agent in the edit mode, you can define, operate, or monitor copy groups from XP7
Replication Manager software.

entry

A DKC or command device that the route passes through.

environment
setting command

A command started by the START command of the OS ,used to set up the Business Continuity
Manager environment, or used to display the settings. The environment setting command includes
the YKALCSVC, YKSETENV, and YKDSPENV commands.

EXCTG

When Cnt Ac-J are in a 4x4 configuration, consistency can be preserved between volumes on
multiple DKCs. This group, which maintains volume consistency, is called an Extended ConsisTency
Group.

delta

A difference between the current time (the time that the information collection command is issued)
and the EXCTG consistency time.

EXCTG consistency
time

The latest timestamp for the data for which consistency preservation in an EXCTG is guaranteed.

EXCTG information
CSV file

A CSV file in which EXCTG information in a 4x4 configuration copy group container is described.

external dataset

A sequential dataset for the log data output from the system logger service.

failback

Procedures for switching operations back to the primary site again after a recovery, when the
operations were carried over to one or more other sites due to a failover.

failover

Procedures for continuing operations by switching the operations over to one or more other sites
when the primary site stops working due to a failure or maintenance.

FCP

Fibre Channel protocol.

FlashCopy

An IBM function that copies data quickly. For details, see DFSMS Advanced Copy Services.

Gen'ed volume

A Gen'ed volume refers to a volume that the OS recognizes. In the case of z/OS, this would be
a volume that is in the I/O gen for the LPAR.

GTF

Generalized trace facility.

address domain ID

(Host DAD ID) The device address domain ID of the host that is running Business Continuity
Manager.
