4.

From the remote host, register the command device for each of the storage systems at the
remote, primary, and local sites. This operation is not necessary when Business Continuity
Manager is not started at the remote site.

Creating a Copy Group (Delta Resync Configuration)

Create a copy group at the primary host.

To create a copy group:
1.

At the primary host, define a Cnt Ac-S Z copy group between the primary site and the local
site, and a Cnt Ac-J Z copy group between the primary site and the remote site.

2.

At the primary site, define a Cnt Ac-J Z copy group for the delta resync function.

For the sub-consistency group ID (sub C/T ID(JNLG)) (the sub-consistency group ID for the
journal group), specify the same journal group number that was used for the S-VOL of the Cnt
Ac-J Z copy group, and for the mirror ID (MIRROR ID), specify a mirror ID other than the one
that was used for the Cnt Ac-J Z copy group.

3.

Transfer the copy group definition file to the local site and the remote site.

If you are not using Business Continuity Manager at the remote site, you do not need to transfer
the copy group definition file to the remote site.

4.

Create copy pairs for the Cnt Ac-S Z copy group and the Cnt Ac-J Z copy group.

5.

Use the YKEWAIT command with the GOTO(DUPLEX) parameter specified to continue
monitoring until the status of all copy pairs has changed to DUPLEX.

6.

Execute the YKQUERY command on the Cnt Ac-S copy group between the primary site and
the local site to confirm that the following conditions exist:

The number of Cnt Ac-S copy pairs is equal to the number of delta resync pairs to be
created.

The copy pair status is DUPLEX.

The copy direction is from the primary site to the local site.
