Business Continuity Manager functions

Business Continuity Manager also provides the following functions.

Disaster recovery functions

Reverse Resync function

This applies the S-VOL contents to the P-VOL and changes the copy direction. This function
can be used to decrease the amount of time required for restoring operations after a planned
outage in 2DC configurations. In 3DC configurations, this function can be used to decrease
the amount of time required for failover or failback.

Continuous Access Synchronous Z Consistency Preservation function

This preserves Continuous Access Synchronous Z copy group consistency, even during planned
stoppage due to maintenance, or failure.

Delta Resync function

If the host on the primary site has stopped, this function quickly changes the configuration to
a Delta Resync configuration in which the local site becomes the base for continuing operation.

Operational testing function

This allows a suspended S-VOL to be updated, reducing the load required for reverting the
suspended S-VOL to its original status after testing is completed.
