About the SMS list output function
Business Continuity Manager automatically creates a JCL to acquire DCOLLECT output in a file
with the SMS storage group name specified in the SMS Import panel and the information for the
JCL specified in the Set Defaults panel.
To start, operate from the Import SMS Storage Group panel.
On the Pair Selection List (Primary) panel, press the F4=IprtSMS key, and the Import SMS Storage
Group panel appears.
If you specify the SMS storage group name and then press F4=SMSlist, a job based on the specified
SMS storage group name starts.
NOTE: Business Continuity Manager does not monitor the job execution started here. To confirm
that the started job has finished, HP recommends that you specify NOTIFY in the JOB statement
coded in the Set Defaults panel. Business Continuity Manager treats the SMS storage group name
specified in SMS Storage Group Name column as a part of the dataset name. Accordingly, the
name must be 8 characters or fewer. However, without a complete SMS storage group name,
data cannot be acquired from DFSMS Access Method Service. To solve this problem, if an SMS
storage group name is more than 8 characters, specify the complete name in the Complete SMS
Storage Group Name column and specify the name used by Business Continuity Manager in the
SMS Storage Group Name column. Business Continuity Manager executes the JCL to acquire data
based on the name specified in Complete SMS Storage group Name column.

The following JCL outputs an SMS storage group volume list to a file in the DCOLLECT Output
Record Structure format of DFSMS Access Method Service. These operations can also be performed
from the ISPF panel.
