3DC Multi-Target (Cnt Ac-J Z x Cnt Ac-J Z) configuration

In this manual, a 3DC multi-target configuration that consists of three Continuous Access Journal
Z sites is referred to as a 3DC Multi-Target (Cnt Ac-J Z x Cnt Ac-J Z) configuration.

A 3DC Multi-Target (Cnt Ac-J Z x Cnt Ac-J Z) configuration used Continuous Access Journal Z to
perform remote copying from the primary site to two remote sites. Because Continuous Access
Journal Z is used, both remote sites can be placed at distant locations.

Delta Resync configuration

This configuration allows operation at the local site and remote site under a 2DC configuration to
start immediately after a primary site failure or the initiation of maintenance procedures. In a 3DC
Multi-Target (Cnt Ac-S Z x Cnt Ac-J Z) configuration, a Continuous Access Journal Z copy pair
(called a Delta Resync pair) must be created between the Continuous Access Synchronous Z S-VOL
on the local site and the Continuous Access Journal Z S-VOL on the remote site beforehand, and
is put in the Delta Resync waiting status (meaning that the pair is in the suspend status while the
journal for the Delta Resync pair acquires the differential data between the S-VOLs on the local
and remote sites). For details about the Delta Resync function, see

2DC configuration with HyperSwap and Continuous Access Journal Z

This configuration allows operation at the primary site and secondary site under a 2DC configuration
to start immediately after a primary storage system failure or initiation of maintenance procedures
by using HyperSwap. Both the primary storage system and local storage system are placed at the
primary site, and a PPRC copy pair for which HyperSwap is enabled is used. Continuous Access
