An address row (in blue text) will be added below the PowerFlex 70 EC
drive row.

12. Select File > Save to save the I/O configuration file to the PLC-5/40C

controller.

The Save Configuration dialog box appears.

13. Click OK to download the I/O configuration to the controller.

A warning will appear about communication and I/O disruption on the
network.

14. Click Yes.

If this is the first time that you saved the project, the Save As dialog box
appears.

a. Navigate to a folder.

b. Type a file name.

c.

Click Save to save the configuration as a file on your computer.

SLC 500 Controller Example

After the adapter is configured, the connected drive and adapter will be a
single node on the network. This section provides the steps needed to
configure a simple ControlNet network (see

Figure 4.6

). In our example, we

will configure a SLC 500 controller to communicate with a drive using
Logic Command/Status, Reference/Feedback, and Datalinks over the
network.
