Connecting the Module to the Drive

Step 1.

Remove power from the drive.

Step 2.

Use static control precautions.

Step 3.

Mount the module on the required

special

drive cover

(ordered separately, see figure 3.3 for part numbers).

C Frame: Use the module screw to secure the module to
the cover

B Frame: Disregard the screw and snap the module in
place.

Important:

For C Frame drives, tighten the module’s lower left
screw to ground the module (see figure 3.3). For B
Frame drives, install the special drive cover onto the
drive using both cover fasteners to ground the module.

Step 4.

Connect the Internal Interface cable to the MDI port on
the drive and then to the MDI connector on the module.

(DN = Closed = 0)

Disables the module web pages.

Up position

(UP = Open = 1)

Enables the module web pages (default

setting).

ATTENTION: The MD65 drive may contain high
voltages that can cause injury or death. Remove
power from the drive, and then verify power has
been discharged before installing or removing a
module. Failure to observe this precaution could
result in severe bodily injury or loss of life.
