Blocked address list—A blocked address list contains the MAC addresses of prohibited APs or
clients. WIPS uses the list to categorize APs and clients, and WIPS can also prohibit clients in the
list from accessing the WLAN.

WIPS can operate independently or in an existing WLAN.
Independent networking
ACs and sensors (fit APs) operating in monitor mode form a WIPS network, as shown in

The WIPS network is independent of the WLAN to be protected.
