Section 5 — Timeline Operations

Clip Placement

The various methods for placing clips on the Timeline are discussed in this
section.

An EDIUS NEO project is comprised of one or more sequences and a
sequence is comprised of one or more clips. A sequence is built by placing
related clips on tracks on the Timeline.

There are four track types in EDIUS NEO. They are:

V Track - Video, still images, titles, color bar clips and matte color clips
are placed on this track

Note

If video clips with audio are placed on this track, the audio is disabled.

VA Track - Video, audio, still images, titles, color bar clips and matte
color clips are placed on this track

T Track - Video, still images, titles, color bar clips and matte color clips
are placed on this track. Title positions can be adjusted on this track.

Note

If video clips with audio are placed on this track, the audio is disabled.

A Track - Audio clips are placed on this track

Note

If video clips with audio are placed on this track, the video is disabled and
only the audio is used.

There are several ways to place and position clips on the Timeline.

Add Clips from the Asset Bin

Captured or imported clips in the Asset Bin are placed on the Timeline to
build EDIUS NEO projects.

To place clip(s) in the Asset Bin on the Timeline after selecting the clip(s) in
the Bin, do one of the following:

Clip(s) are placed on the target tracks defined by the track patches according
the source channel connect/disconnect status. See Video and Audio Track

Add to Timeline

button

in the Asset Bin. See
