Trimming Clips
Note
The four frames mentioned above are displayed only if the Preview window
is set to dual mode. If the Preview window is set to single mode, only two
frames are displayed; the Out point of the first clip at the edit point and the In
point of the second clip.
Slip Trim
Trims portions of the clip between the In and Out points.
Rolling Trim
Trims from the Out point side of the clip before the selected edit point and
extends the clip after the selected edit point from the In side as the mouse
cursor is dragged to the left.
If the cursor is dragged to the right, the previous clip is extended from the
Out point and the subsequent clip is trimmed from the In side.
Trimming by Value
In Trim mode, the sequence timecode is displayed in the Preview window
and you can trim by entering a new timecode value.
To trim a clip by value, do the following:
1.
Select Mode>Trimming from the Preview window menu bar as shown
in
Figure 471. Trimming Mode Selection
The Preview window switches from normal mode to trim mode.
2.
Click in the In (beginning) or Out (end) point of a clip to trim.
The color of the trim handle at the edit point changes to green or yellow and
trimming is enabled. The yellow trim handle is the active trim handle at the
edit point.
Select the appropriate trim mode button in the Trim window according to
the desired trimming type. See
Trim mode buttons.
