FORMAT DEVICE
Syntax
format device=flash
Parameter
device Specifies the device to format. The only option is “Flash” for
the switch’s file system.
Description
This command formats the flash memory in the switch. It deletes all files in
the switch’s file system, as well as all encryption keys in the key database
and security certificates in the PKI certificate database. The active AT-S63
image file stored in the application block is not deleted.

The following example formats the flash memory in the switch:
