New LSAs Originated The number of new link-state advertisements that have been orig-

inated.

LSAs Received

The number of link-state advertisements received determined to
be new instantiations.

External LSDB Limit

The maximum number of non-default AS-external-LSAs entries
that can be stored in the link-state database.

show ip ospf area

This command displays information about the area. The <areaid> identifies the OSPF area that is
being displayed.

Format

show ip ospf area <areaid>

Mode

Privileged EXEC and User EXEC

AreaID

Is the area id of the requested OSPF area.

Aging Interval

Is a number representing the aging interval for this area.

External Routing

Is a number representing the external routing capabilities for this
area.

Authentication Type

Is the configured authentication type to use for this area.

Spf Runs

Is the number of times that the intra-area route table has been cal-
culated using this area's link-state database.

Area Border Router Count The total number of area border routers reachable within this

area.

Area LSA Count

Total number of link-state advertisements in this area's link-state
database, excluding AS External LSA's.

Area LSA Checksum

A number representing the Area LSA Checksum for the specified
AreaID excluding the external (LS type 5) link-state advertise-
ments.

Stub Mode

Represents whether the specified Area is a stub area or not. The
possible values are enabled and disabled. This is a configured
value.

Import Summary LSAs

Metric Value

Is a number representing the Metric Value for the specified area.

Metric Type

Is the Default Metric Type for the specified Area.
