The BladeSystem network and the Onboard Administrator management network are connected to different

networks. EBIPA assigns IPv4 fixed DHCP addresses for the iLO processors that are bridged through the
Onboard Administrator. Do not confuse EBIPA with port mapping for the server blade NICs, network routers,

or switches. EBIPA does not assign IPv4 addresses for any other device on the network and cannot be used

as a DHCP server on the data network.

NOTE:

The Onboard Administrator documentation refers to EBIPA IP addresses as "fixed IP

addresses" or "fixed DHCP addresses," meaning that each of these addresses is an IP address
permanently associated with a specific bay number independent of the actual device currently

attached to the bay.

NOTE:

EBIPA enforces unique IP addresses for all bays, even if bays are on a different VLAN.

If the server blade iLO is configured for an EBIPA fixed IP address, it carries that address when the blade is

moved to another enclosure.
If the server blades are set for DHCP and Onboard Administrator is configured for EBIPA addressing for that

bay, iLO will obtain an EBIPA configured IP address when it is plugged into that enclosure.
The server blade iLO defaults to DHCPv4 addressing, which is obtained through the network connector of the

Active Onboard Administrator. Interconnect modules that have an internal management network connection
to the Onboard Administrator might also default to DHCPv4 addressing.
The Onboard Administrator GUI lists the IPv4 address for the server blade iLO bay and the interconnect

module management bay.
