8.3.9.1 CONFIGURING INPUT TYPE

CAUTION: To avoid damage to the instrument, verify the input type prior to
making connections.

Each individual input can be configured as either passive or active type by setting
the two internal DIP switch array, SW1 and SW2. Refer to Section 8.5 and
Figure 8-9 to remove the controller cover and locate the switches.
Each position of SW1 and SW2 are used as pairs. Both have to be set ON or
OFF. ON selects passive type input and OFF selects active type input. The
example on Figure 8-2 shows Input 1 through 4 are set for passive type, and Input
5 through 8 are set for active type.
Use the form in Section 14.4 to record the input type settings for future reference.

8.4 POWER

SWITCH

WARNING: Do NOT use the power switch as a disconnecting device;
disconnect the power cord from the power entry module to fully remove
hazardous voltage from inside the controller.

The power switch is located on the front lower left of the MDC-260. Pressing the
switch will toggle the controller on or off. The MDC-260 is off when the LCD
and all of the LEDs behind the operating keys are off. However, turning the
power switch off does not fully remove the AC power from inside the unit.
Always disconnect the power cord from the power entry module to fully remove
AC power from inside the unit.
