with Q = 4, 5, or 6 taken over a 1

minute sampling period, (results will be
stored from all three Q values).

The different sampling periods allow the operator to identify
problem areas by using one of the longer sampling periods,
then to "zoom in" using a shorter period so that the problem
area can be examined in fine detail.

Once within the profile area, pressing

selects the upper

(TIME) command on the

key and displays time informa-

tion, while pressing

selects the lower (LEVEL) command

and displays the level in dB.

Within the profile area, pressing the

or

keys select

respectively, the next later or earlier time value cell in the pro-
file. When held down, these keys have an automatic repeat
function that scans through the cells at one every half second
so that a particular time or level can be located quickly. Press-

ing the

key again selects the next profile in the stored se-

ries. The relationship between the stored time profiles, sound
levels, and times is illustrated in Figure 10.
