+ means while holding down, also press to obtain
the required command. The first key pressed in any combination will be
the first read and acted upon by the instrument, so when keys are
pressed in an incorrect order, "unexpected" commands may be imple-
mented.
4.1 Switching Instrument Power ON/OFF
The main power switch for the instrument is a latching push-ON/push-
OFF switch. It is located beside the keypad connector in a compartment
behind a lockable sliding cover in the bottom of the instrument case. To
switch the power ON or OFF, proceed as follows.
1. If necessary, carefully remove the keypad from the CEL-281 by
sliding it downwards, until it is clear of the grooves in the sides
of the dosimeter casing.
2. If necessary, use the 1.5 mm Allen Key (038524 provided) to
retract the locking screw that frees the cover in the bottom of
the instrument.
3. If necessary, slide the cover to the right to give access to the
ON/OFFswitch.
4. Press the switch in to latch it ON.
The ON legend appears on the display together with the fol-
lowing messages.
Instrument identity displayed for 2 seconds.
Software version number displayed for 1 second.
User entered instrument identity number
displayed for 5 seconds, identity can be set
only by means of the PC software package.
