Configuring the Broadcast/Multicast/Unknown Unicast Storm Suppression Ratio for
an Ethernet Port

You can use the following commands to suppress the broadcast, multicast, and unknown unicast traffic.
In port configuration mode, the suppression ratio indicates the maximum broadcast, multicast, or
unknown unicast traffic that is allowed to pass through a port. When the broadcast, multicast, or
unknown unicast traffic passing the port exceeds the threshold, the system will discard the extra
packets so that the broadcast, multicast, or unknown unicast traffic ratio can drop below the limit to
ensure that the network functions properly.

The storm suppression ratio settings configured for an Ethernet port may get invalid if you configure a
traffic threshold for the port using the storm-constrain command.
