Supporting a Continuous Access Journal Z copy group configuration

To create an inter-disk controller logical path dedicated to the command device:
1.

Establish an inter-disk controller logical path.

This inter-control unit logical path must be assigned a port number that is different from that
of the inter-disk controller logical path that the Continuous Access Journal Z copy group will
use.

2.

Create a command device on the control unit with which the inter-control unit logical path has
been established.

You can create a command device on the control unit that contains the Continuous Access
Journal Z copy group.

Figure 77 (page 139)

shows an example of a Continuous Access Journal Z copy group configuration.

Configuration definition for using the Continuous Access Synchronous
Consistency Preservation function

To use the Continuous Access Synchronous consistency preservation function, you must define, at
the site at which a copy operation will be performed, command devices and a route (only the
starting point) that defines those command devices.

If you use the Continuous Access Synchronous consistency preservation function from the secondary
site, you need to define, at the secondary site, command devices and a route (only the starting
point) that defines those command devices.

This section describes the image of command device and route list definitions, and the procedure
for defining a copy group.

Figure 78 (page 140)

shows an example of command device and route list definitions when you

use the Continuous Access Synchronous Consistency Preservation Function from the primary site.
