Reference

For the definitions of width (Y) and length (X), see page 1-6.

-

The number of sheets output as charts are included in the print count.

-

Prepare Spectrophotometer i1iSis XL or i1Pro, a PC connected with the spectrophotometer, and a USB
flash drive.

-

Use the ProfileMaker Measure Tool.

-

When operating the Spectrophotometer i1iSis XL via PC, click [Open] to select a script file correspond-
ing to the chart size.

-

Even though the message [This application will run in a limited demonstration mode. A hardware dongle
is required to active all functions.] is displayed, the Measure Tool, which is used to save colorimetric
data, operates normally without the hardware dongle.

-

When operating the Spectrophotometer i1iSis XL via PC, click [Open] to select a script file correspond-
ing to the chart size. For details of the script file, please contact your service representative.

To save the colorimetric data:

-

Please refer to the user's guide of the spectrophotometer for usage.

-

When using the Spectrophotometer i1iSis XL to create the colorimetric data, cut off the left edge of the
chart leaving the edge positioning line on the yellow side of the chart before scanning it.

-

The chart for color density control is available in three types: large, medium, and small sizes. When us-
ing the Spectrophotometer i1Pro to create the colorimetric data, use a PC to enter the number of row
and column of color chips printed on the chart before measuring each type. The large-sized chart has
11 rows and 4 columns, coming to the total of 44 color chips printed. The medium-sized chart has 8
rows and 4 columns, coming to the total of 32 color chips. The small-sized chart has 6 rows and 4 col-
umns, coming to the total of 24 color chips. The color chips in the first two rows (or only the first row
for small-sized chart), though they appear colorless, should also be measured.

-

Save the colorimetric data in the lowest level directory, setting the path [\C8000\ADJUST_DATA] to the
USB flash drive. The number of files to be saved is the same as the number of output sheets. The file
name is 4-digit number printed on the chart (2-digit paper category number + 1-digit total page count
+ 1-digit page number).

-

When the measurement in spectrophotometer is completed, click [Close] on the computer screen to
display another window. Be sure to click [Export Lab...] in that window to save the file. Clicking [File] in
the tool bar also allows you to save the file with the desired name specified, however, the machine can-
not recognize the data saved in this way.

-

Multiple sheets of chart will be output. After loading the first chart, a message will appear to prompt you
to load the second chart; however, be sure to save the colorimetric data for every chart before loading
the next chart.
