If the batteries require removal, disconnect the

cables as previously detailed. Loosen the wing

nuts, 1, and lower the clamps, 2, downward. Lift

the battery to be removed from the battery tray.

Check the Battery Electrolyte Level

To check the battery electrolyte level, clean the

top of the batteries with a damp cloth.

Remove the six fill plugs, 1, from each battery.

Check that the electrolyte level is 6 mm (1/4″)

below the filler neck of each cell. Add distilled or

demineralized water as required. Do not overfill.

Replace all fill plugs.

Check for loose cable connections. Tighten as

required.

WARNING: BATTERIES CONTAIN SULFURIC

ACID. IN CASE OF CONTACT WITH SKIN,

FLUSH THE AFFECTED AREA WITH WATER

FOR FIVE MINUTES. SEEK MEDICAL

ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY.

WARNING: AVOID CONTACT WITH THE

SKIN, EYES OR CLOTHING. WEAR EYE

PROTECTION WHEN WORKING NEAR

BATTERIES.
