SpO2

The type of saturated oxygen measured with a pulse oximeter.

tachycardia

A

cardiovascular

condition characterized by an excessively rapid heartbeat.

venous

1. Of or pertaining to a vein or veins.
2. Returning to the heart through the great veins.

ventricle

A small anatomical cavity or chamber in the heart, although also the brain. Used in

context of this manual, ventricle refers to (a), the chamber on the left side of the heart that

receives arterial blood from the left atrium and contracts to drive it into the aorta; and (b)

the chamber on the right side of the heart that receives venous blood from the right atrium

and drives it into the pulmonary artery.

1. The International System unit of electric potential and electromotive force, equal to the

difference of electric potential between two points on a conducting wire carrying a

constant current of one ampere when t he power dissipated between the points is one

watt.
2. A unit of electric potential and electromotive force equal to 1.00034 times the
