Description

LINK/ACT

z

ON means carrier signal has been received.

z

Blinking means data is being received or/and transmitted.

z

OFF means no carrier signal has been received.

LP/AL

z

ON means the interface is in a loopback.

z

Blinking means an AIS, LFA, or RAI alarm signal is present.

z

OFF means no loopback or alarm is present.

Note:
LFA = Loss of frame alignment; AIS = Alarm indication signal; RAI = Remote alarm indication.

Interface optical fiber

Choose an optical fiber cable appropriate to the MIM-1ATM-OC3 module for installation.

Laser danger! Do not directly stare at the optical fiber connector connected with the laser, in case of the
injury that may cause to your eyes.

MIM-1AE3

Introduction

1-port 34.368 Mbps ATM-E3 interface module (MIM-1AE3) supports:

z

Two ATM cell mapping modes: ATM Direct Mapping (ADM) and Physical Layer Convergence
Protocol (PLCP);

z

Scrambling in data transmission;

z

Both line clock (when working as DTE interface) and internal clock (when working as DCE
interface);

z

Four types of test measures, that is, local cell loopback, local payload loopback, remote payload
loopback, and remote line loopback.

You are allowed to equip an H3C Series Router with MIM-AE3 modules to its full capacity. However,
you are recommended to install only one MIM-AE3 module on it, whatever its model is, to ensure the
performance of some key services.
