Safety Configuration and Verification

Chapter 10

Confirm the Project

The goal of confirming the project is to make sure the parameter values you
configure are retained in the drive. You must check each parameter to make sure
it is set to the correct value according to your system configuration specification.

Follow these steps to confirm the project.

1. Open the safety configuration tool

and expand the Safety folder.

2. Click Configuration Summary.

The Configuration Summary report opens.

Each parameter and the parameter values are displayed. This example is
only a partial list.

3. Verify that the settings in the report match your system configuration

specification.

Click Save to create an html file to record the configuration.
Click Print to create a paper record of the configuration.

4. Return to the Safety Main tab and click Refresh.

The current safety configuration is read from the drive.

5. Click Configuration Summary again and compare the values in your saved

file or printed report to the current safety configuration from the drive.

6. Verify that the two Configuration Summary reports match.

Safety Validation

An independent, third-party review of the safety system can be required before
the system is approved for operation. An independent, third-party certification is
required for IEC 61508 SIL CL3.
