Safety Configuration Example

Configure the Input Tab Parameters

Follow these steps to configure the Input tab parameters.

1. Expand the Safety folder to gain access to the Input tab.

2. Under Safety Configuration, choose Input.

The Input tab dialog box opens.

3. From the Safe Stop pull-down menu, choose Dual Channel Equivalent

(default) as the parameter value.

In this example, the Safe Stop input (SS_In) monitors an E-Stop switch
with two normally-closed (2NC) contacts.

4. From the Door Monitor pull-down menu, choose Dual Channel

Equivalent (default) as the parameter value.

In this example, the Door Monitor input (DM_In) monitors the TLS-3
GD2 interlock switch with two normally-closed (2NC) contacts.

5. From the Lock Monitor] pull-down menu, choose Dual Channel

Equivalent (default) as the parameter value.

In this example, the Lock Monitor input (LM_In) monitors the TLS 3
GD2 interlock switch with two normally-closed (2NC) contacts.

6. From the Safe Limited Speed pull-down menu, choose Dual Channel

Equivalent (default) as the parameter value.

In this example, the Lock Monitor input (LM_In) monitors a switch with
two normally-closed (2NC) contacts. If the NC contacts are open and
speed exceeds the configured Safe Limited Speed, the drive initiates the
configured Stop Category.

When the drive is actively monitoring Safe Limited Speed, and the
monitored value is at or below the configured Safe Speed Limit, the
interlock switch is released and the door can be open.

7. From the Enabling Switch Monitor pull-down menu, choose Not Used as

the parameter value.
