Safety Configuration Example

Chapter 11

Use the Initial Safety Main Tab Commands

The Safety Main tab lets you lock or unlock the safety configuration, save the
configuration to a file, apply a safety configuration, and enter a password. The
default [Safety Lock Status] parameter setting is Unlock.

You can set a password from the Change Safety Password tab. You must enter the
current password and then enter the new password. If you have forgotten the
current password, you must perform a drive firmware upgrade.

Follow these steps to use the Apply, Refresh, Lock, and Unlock commands.

1. Open the safety configuration tool by entering the IP address of the drive.

In this example, the IP address is http://192.168.1.1. The final octet is
determined by the IAM module node address (001).

2. Expand the Safety folder to gain access to the Safety Main tab.

3. Click Safety Main.

The Safety Main tab dialog box opens.

4. Click Apply.

The Apply command is used to apply changes
you’ve made to the safety configuration.

If the configuration is locked or protected by
a password, the command fails.

IMPORTANT

If no password was set previously, you enter only the new password. Once set,
you must enter this password to change the password or to use the Safety
Main tab commands.
