Create a New Constraints File Dialog
The Create a New Constraints File Dialog is used to easily create a new, empty constraints file and optionally
add it to the currently active project. The dialog is available in all perspectives, and can be accessed by
selecting File→New→SDC Constraints File. . . .

The dialog allows the user to type the file’s destination Directory, or select it graphically using the Browse. . .
button. The Directory name provided must already exist. (If selected, the Browse. . . button will display a
Directory Selection Dialog, which also allows the user to create a new directory and then select it.)
The File Name must be unique - there must not already be a file with that name in the destination Directory.
If there is currently an active project in ACE, the Add to active project checkbox will be enabled and checked
by default. If there is no project active, the checkbox will be disabled and deselected.
Once Finish is selected, the text file will be created, and the ACE
will be opened for the new text
file.
Note:
This dialog may be used to create PDC files as well as SDC files. Simply change the File Name
extension to
’.pdc’
instead of
’.sdc’
.
