22.5 The Distinctive Ring Screen

The X6004 allows you to select different ring tones based on the origins of calls
routed through the X6004.

Click Configuration > PBX > Call Services > Distinctive Ring to configure the
distinctive ring feature.

Note: This function works only when the callee uses an analog phone connected to

X6004’s FXS port, a ZyXEL softphone such as V100 or a ZyXEL IP phone such
as V500.

The following table describes the labels in this screen.

Table 122 Distinctive Ring

LABEL

DESCRIPTION

Active

Select this to activate the distinctive ring feature.

Ring Tone

Select a ring tone (1~12) and press Playback to listen to the ring tone
on the computer that you are using to configure the X6004.

Internal Call

Select the ring tone for internal calls (calls from one X6004’s extension to
another X6004’s extension).

SIP Trunk

Select the ring tone for calls coming in from the SIP trunk (for example
your connection to the ITSP).

FXO

Select the ring tone for calls coming in from the FXO trunk (for example
your connection to the PSTN).

PRI

Select the ring tone for calls coming in from the PRI trunk (for example
your connection to an ISDN T1/E1 line).

BRI

Select the ring tone for calls coming in from the BRI trunk (for example
your connection to an ISDN BRI line).

Apply

Click this to save your changes.

Reset

Click this to set every field in this screen to its last-saved value.
