Configuring System Name, Contact, and Location

For the Cuda 12000, you can configure system name, contact, and location
information. This information is stored in the sysName, sysContact, and
sysLocation MIB variables. This information is described as follows:

Perform the following tasks to configure name, contact, and location
information for the Cuda 12000:

A name, contact, or location text string may

contain up to 255 alphanumeric

characters.

If a text string contains spaces, you may enclose the string in

quotes.

Parameter

Description

Name

The name of the system (sysName MIB object).

Contact

The type of contact for this network (sysContact MIB
object). The contact is typically a network
administrator’s name, extension, and/or e-mail address.

Location

The physical location of the Cuda 12000 (sysLocation
MIB object).

Task

Command

1. Enter configuration mode.

root

2. Specify the SNMP contact.

snmp-server contact

<contact>

3. Specify the system’s name.

snmp-server name

<name>

4. Specify the system’s physical

location.

snmp-server location <location>

5. Display the contact, name and

location information.

show snmp

6. Remove the contact, name or

location information.

no snmp-server {contact | name |
location
}
