To modify Subscriber Management CPE control per cable modem, perform
the following tasks. Note that you use the show modem command to
determine the IP address, MAC address and service ID of the cable modem:

1. Enter cable interface mode. interface cable <c/s/i>
2. Specify that you want to use
Subscriber Management for
CPE devices that use the cable
modem to access the
network.
cm modify active

3. Specify that you do not want
to use Subscriber

that use the cable modem to

4. Change the maximum
number of IP addresses
available to CPE devices that
use the cable modem to
access the network.
cm modify max-ip <0..16>
{<ip address> | <mac address> | <sid>}
5. Specify that you want the
CMTS to learn all IP addresses
for CPE devices that use the
cable modem to access the
network.
cm modify learnable
{<ip address> | <mac address> | <sid>}
6. Specify that you do not want
the CMTS to learn all IP
addresses for CPE devices that
use the cable modem to
access the network.
no cm modify learnable
{<ip address> | <mac address> | <sid>}
7. Display the Subscriber
Management CPE control
configuration, per cable
modem.
