7. Connect the transmission temperature switch
connector (Fig. 6 -12, 1) and shift solenoid wiring
harness connectors (2 and 3).
8. Attach the black wire (Fig. 6-12, 4) to the transmission
housing with a capscrew (5).
9. Secure the wiring harness to the transmission housing
using the clip (Fig. 6-12, 6) and capscrew (7).

10. Connect the transmission oil cooler inlet (Fig. 6-13, 1)
and outlet (2) hoses at the transmission.

11. Install the hydraulic pump. (Refer to Section 8.11.2, h.
“Pump Installation.”)
12. Install the engine-to-transmission drive shaft. (Refer
to Section 5.4.7, b. “Engine-to-Transmission Drive
Shaft.”)
13. Install the transmission-to-axle drive shafts. (Refer to
Section 5.4.7, a. “Transmission-to-Axle Drive Shafts.”)
14. Clean the transmission oil filter mounting surface.
15. Apply a thin film of clean Universal Tractor Fluid to
the new transmission filter gasket. Install the new
filter and torque to 20-25 lb/ft (27-34 Nm).
16. Transmission oil may be added through the dipstick
tube. Remove the dipstick and add approximately
3 gallons (11 liters) of Universal Tractor Fluid. Check
the oil level by taking intermittent dipstick readings
as outlined in the Model 6036 Owners/Operators
Manual. DO NOT overfill. Reinstall the dipstick when
finished.
17. Install the upper (Fig. 6-14, 1) and lower (2)
transmission covers, and secure to the frame with
six hex-head capscrews, six lockwashers and six flat
washers (3).

18. Connect the battery negative (-) cable at the battery.
