Hydraulic System

Disassemble the Relief Valve
(Lift/Lower and Extend/Retract Sections)

On the lift/lower section (Fig. 8-45, 28) and the extend/
retract section (32) the relief valves (38) are preset at
3250 ±50 psi (224 ±3,5 bar).

1. Remove the relief valve (Fig. 8-45, 38) from the

appropriate section.

2. Remove the o-ring (Fig. 8-45, 54) from the relief

valve.

3. Grip the relief valve body (Fig. 8 -45, 55) with a

suitable tool and use another tool to remove the nut
(56), revealing an adjustment screw (57) and an
o-ring (58).

4. Remove the spring (Fig. 8-45, 59) and poppet (60)

from the plug (61).

5. Remove the o-ring (Fig. 8-45, 62), large spring (63),

back-up ring (64), o-ring (65), small spring (66),
poppet (67), o-ring (68), back-up ring (69), small
poppet (70) and large poppet (71) from the body (55).

Disassemble the Mid-Inlet/Outlet Section

1. Remove the shuttle (Fig. 8-45, 72) from the mid-

inlet/outlet section (73).

2. Remove the shut-off plug (Fig. 8-45, 75).

3. Remove the remaining plugs (Fig. 8-45, 76, 78 and

80) and o-rings (77, 79 and 81).

d. Main Control Valve Parts Cleaning

Clean all components with a suitable cleaner, such as
triclorethylene, before continuing; blow dry.

e. Main Control Valve Parts Inspection

Inspect all parts and internal passageways for wear,
damage, etc. If inner surfaces of any component DO NOT
display an ultra-smooth, polished finish, or are damaged
in any way, replace the damaged part. Often, dirty
hydraulic fluid causes failure of internal seals, damage to
the polished surfaces within the component, and wear of
and/or harm to other parts.
