Optional Cassette

The Optional Cassette is an auxiliary 500 sheet capacity paper supply
unit similar to the paper cassette that is included with the facsimile.
By installing the Optional Cassette on this facsimile as a second and
lower cassette, it is possible to set a different size of paper in each of
the two cassettes, or to set the same size of paper and, thereby,
increase the volume of the paper supply.
* The procedure to set paper and to remove a paper jam is identical

to that of the paper cassette that is included with the facsimile.

* Prior to using the Optional Cassette for the first time, refer to

“(1) Setting the Paper Size”, page 10-2, and “(2) Setting the Paper
Feed Selection Mode”, page 10-3.

(1) Setting the Paper Size

It is necessary to select in advance which size of paper will be used in
the Optional Cassette. Select from between A4 and Folio sizes by
carrying out the following procedure.
* The factory default setting is A4 size. Therefore, there is no need to

change this setting during the initial set-up procedure if you will be
using A4 size paper.

* To cancel the procedure part way through, press the STOP key.

The message display will revert to the initial mode.

* If Restricted access is turned ON, it is first necessary to enter the

registered management password and then press the ENTER
FUNCTION key. Refer to “(5) Entering Your Access Code”, page 7-28.

1. Press the FUNCTION key.

2. Press the (

) cursor key until the following message appears in

the message display.

3. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

4. Press the (

) cursor key until the following message appears in

the message display.

5. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

6. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key once again.

7. Press the cursor keys (

) (

) until the desired paper size appears

in the message display.

8. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

9. Press the STOP key. The message display will revert to the initial
