(5) Cancelling a Communication (2nd line)

The procedure to cancel a communication differs according to the
type of communication involved.

Cancelling any Fax Transmission or Reception, or a
Polling Reception in Progress

Follow the same procedure used for the 1st line (standard line).

If both the 1st and 2nd lines are currently engaged, carry out the
following procedure to cancel the desired communication.
* If Restricted access is turned ON, it is first necessary to enter your

access code (or the registered management password) and then
press the ENTER FUNCTION key. Refer to “(5) Entering Your
Access Code”, page 7-28.

* To cancel the procedure part way through, press the STOP key.

The message display will revert to the initial mode.

1. Press the FUNCTION key.

2. Press the (

) cursor key until the following message appears in

the message display.

3. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

4. Press the (

) cursor key once.

5. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key. The file number corresponding

to a communication which is awaiting a start time will be displayed.
* If “NO MEMORY FILE” appears in the message display, there

are no scheduled communications which use the timer and the
display will revert to the initial mode.

* If a Memory polling transmission has been scheduled, “POLLING

TX” will be displayed after the file number.

* If an F-Code based Confidential polling transmission has been

scheduled, the corresponding SEP (selective polling address) will
be displayed after the file number.

6. Press the (

) cursor key until the file number corresponding to the

communication to be cancelled appears in the message display.

7. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

8. The scheduled communication will be cancelled.

If other scheduled communications remain, a Confirmation report
will be printed out.

Cancelling a Communication which is Awaiting a Start
Time

To cancel any communication which uses the timer and is awaiting a
start time, carry out the following procedure.
* When a fax transmission is cancelled, a Transmission report will be

printed regardless of the present setting for Transmission report
print out. However, depending on the type of transmission being
cancelled, there are times when the sample image of the
documents will not be included on the report.

* If Restricted access is turned ON, it is first necessary to enter your

access code (or the registered management password) and then
press the ENTER FUNCTION key. Refer to “(5) Entering Your
Access Code”, page 7-28. If an access code is entered, it will only
be possible to cancel communications that were scheduled by the
same department. In order to cancel communications scheduled by
more than one department, it is necessary to enter the registered
management password.

1. Hold down the ALTERNATE DISPLAY key and use the cursor

keys (

) (

) to select the line that is currently engaged with the

communication to be cancelled.

2. Hold down the ALTERNATE DISPLAY key and press the STOP

key.
