Fax operation (Other functions)

* To cancel the procedure part way through, press the STOP key.

The message display will revert to the initial mode.

* If Restricted access is turned ON, it is first necessary to enter your

access code (or the registered management password) and then
press the ENTER FUNCTION key. Refer to “(5) Entering Your
Access Code”, page 7-28.

1. Set the documents to be transmitted and, if necessary, select the

desired resolution and contrast.
* If you want to designate a time for the transmission to begin,

press the DELAYED TX. key.

2. Press the FUNCTION key.

3. Press the (

) cursor key until the following message appears in

the message display.

4. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

5. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key once again.

6. Enter the destination fax number.

* If you entered the fax number with the keypad, proceed to step 7.
* If you entered the fax number with an abbreviated number or

one-touch key that is already registered with the appropriate SUB
(subaddress) and SID (subaddress ID), proceed to step 11.

7. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

8. Use the keypad to enter the appropriate SUB (subaddress).

(Max. 20 digits)

9. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

10. Use the keypad to enter the appropriate SID (subaddress ID).

(Max. 20 digits)
* If you do NOT need to enter a subaddress ID, proceed to

step 11.

11. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

To transmit documents to multiple destinations, repeat steps 6
through 11 until all desired fax numbers have been entered.
* If “EXCEEDS MAX. DEST” appears in the message display, the

number of fax numbers entered exceeds the acceptable limit.

* If you pressed the DELAYED TX. key at the beginning of the

procedure, press the ENTER FUNCTION key after all desired
fax numbers have been entered. A message that will allow you
to enter a desired start time will appear. Carry out steps 5 and 6
of “Communication Using the Timer”, page 4-2.

12. Press the START key.

A corresponding file number will appear in the message display.

(4) Printing Out Documents from a

Confidential Box

Documents received into a Confidential box will NOT be automatically
printed out and must be printed out by carrying out the following
procedure.

* To cancel the procedure part way through, press the STOP key.

The message display will revert to the initial mode.

* If Restricted access is turned ON, it is first necessary to enter your

access code (or the registered management password) and then
press the ENTER FUNCTION key. Refer to “(5) Entering Your
Access Code”, page 7-28.

1. Press the FUNCTION key.

2. Press the (

) cursor key until the following message appears in

the message display.

3. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

4. Press the (

) cursor key until the following message appears in

the message display.

5. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

6. Use the keypad to enter the 4-digit Confidential box number of the

Confidential box where the documents are stored.

7. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

8. Use the keypad to enter the corresponding 4-digit Confidential box

password.

9. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key. The documents which are

stored in that Confidential box will be printed out.
* Once the documents are printed out, the corresponding data will

be deleted.

* If the entered Confidential box password doesn’t match the

registered one, the message display will return to step 8. Verify
and enter the correct password.
