2. Enter the destination fax numbers in order of preference.

below until all desired numbers have been

entered.
* The fax numbers can be entered with the keypad, abbreviated

numbers, one-touch keys or group dial keys.

* If “EXCEEDS MAX. DEST” appears in the message display, the

number of fax numbers entered exceeds the acceptable limit.

Enter a fax number.

Check the display and press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

* If you pressed the DELAYED TX. key at the beginning of the

procedure, press the ENTER FUNCTION key after all desired fax
numbers have been entered. A message that will allow you to
enter a desired start time will appear. Carry out steps 5 and 6 of
“Communication Using the Timer”, page 4-2.



3. Press the START key.

* Scanning of the documents will begin.

Once the connection has been made with the destination fax,
transmission is initiated manually by pressing the START key. Use
this mode to talk to the other party prior to actual transmission of
the documents, or when the other party must manually switch to
the fax mode.
* Manual fax transmission is only possible if a separately

purchased telephone is connected to this fax.

Manual Fax Transmission

* To cancel the procedure part way through, press the STOP key.

The message display will revert to the initial mode.

* If Restricted access is turned ON, it is first necessary to enter your

access code (or the registered management password) and then
press the ENTER FUNCTION key. Refer to “(5) Entering Your
Access Code”, page 7-28.

1. Set the documents to be transmitted and, if necessary, select the

desired resolution and contrast.

2. Pick up the telephone receiver.

3. Enter the destination fax number.

4. Confirm whether or not the call is answered by a fax.

If you hear a fax tone…

You are connected to a fax.
Press the START key.
Fax transmission will begin.

If the other party answers…

You are connected to a telephone.
Press the START key at the end of the conversation in order to
initiate the fax transmission.
Fax transmission will begin.

5. Hang up the receiver when “COMMUNICATION” appears in the

message display.

When a call comes in, reception is initiated by confirming that the
call is from a fax and pressing the START key.
* Manual fax reception is only possible if a separately purchased

telephone is connected to this fax.

Manual Fax Reception

1. Set the documents to be transmitted and, if necessary, select the

desired resolution and contrast.
* If you want to designate a time for the Broadcast transmission to

begin, press the DELAYED TX. key.
