6. Use the keypad to enter the desired 4-digit Confidential box

number (0000 - 9999).

7. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

8. Use the keypad to enter the desired 4-digit Confidential box ID

(0000 - 9999).
* If you do NOT want to register a Confidential box ID, proceed to

step 9.

9. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

10. Use the keypad to enter the desired 4-digit Confidential box

password (0000 - 9999).

11. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

12. Enter the desired name for the Confidential box.

* Refer to “

Entering Characters”, page 2-21, for more detailed

information on entering characters.

13. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

14. Registration for that Confidential box is complete. Use the cursor

keys (

) (

) to select whether or not you want to continue

registering Confidential boxes.

15. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

* If you chose to continue registering Confidential boxes, return to

step 6. If you chose NOT to continue, the message display will
revert to the initial mode.

6. Use the keypad to enter the 4-digit Confidential box number

corresponding to the Confidential box to be deleted.

7. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

8. Use the keypad to enter the corresponding 4-digit Confidential box

password.

9. Press the CLEAR/ON-HOOK key

* If the entered Confidential box password does NOT match the

registered one, the message display will return to step 8. Verify
and enter the correct password.

* If “CANNOT DELETE DATA IN CONFID. BOX” appears in the

message display, there are already documents stored in that
Confidential box. Print out the documents from the Confidential
box before attempting to delete it. (Refer to “(4) Printing Out
Documents from a Confidential Box”, page 7-9.) If the documents
to be deleted are for a Confidential polling transmission, refer to
“Cancelling a Communication”, page 2-18, to delete them.

10. Deletion of that Confidential box is complete. Use the cursor keys

) to select whether or not you want to continue deleting

Confidential boxes.

11. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

* If you chose to continue deleting Confidential boxes, the

message display will return to step 6. If you chose NOT to
continue, the message display will revert to the initial mode.

(2) Deleting Confidential Boxes

* To cancel the procedure part way through, press the STOP key.

The message display will revert to the initial mode.

* If Restricted access is turned ON, it is first necessary to enter the

registered management password and then press the ENTER
FUNCTION key. Refer to “(5) Entering Your Access Code”, page 7-28.

(3) F-Code Based Confidential Transmission

F-Code based Confidential transmission involves the transmission of
documents to a desired Confidential box that is registered in the
receiving party’s fax.
* In order to carry out F-Code based Confidential transmission, the

receiving party’s fax must also possesses F-Code based
capabilities and a Confidential box must be registered in that fax, in
advance.

* If all of the fax numbers are entered using abbreviated numbers,

one-touch keys or group dial keys, this fax is capable of
automatically transmitting the same documents to up to 145
different fax machines in a single operation.

In order to carry out F-Code based Confidential
transmission…

The transmitting party must select the Confidential box in the
receiving party’s fax that it wants to transmit to and the
corresponding SUB (subaddress) the transmitting party enters
must match the Confidential box number designated for that
Confidential box, and

The corresponding SID (subaddress ID) the transmitting party

enters must match the Confidential box ID designated for that
same Confidential box.
