Resolving a Card Jam (Encoder) Error

All Troubleshooting procedures assume that only factory-authorized supplies are in use in
the Printer.

Step Procedure

Review the following information.

Symptom: Card is jammed in the Printer Encoding Station

Printer Error State: Card TOF Sensor is detecting no card motion.

Driver Monitor Error Display: Card Jam (Encoder)

Step Procedure

a. Look for a jammed card in the Printer.

b. Open the Printer’s front cover.

c. Remove the Ribbon Cartridge from the Printer.

d. Check to see if a card is jammed in the encoding station of the Printer.

Clearing a jammed card.

a. If a card is jammed in the station, use the Forward button and/or
Reverse button to move the Feed Rollers and free the card.

b. Re-insert the ribbon and close the printer cover.

c. Press the Resume button to continue printing.
