FEAC

The Far-End Alarm and Control signal (FEAC) provides Communication
Channel capability over a DS3 in a network applications using C-bit Parity
configuration.

Note: The DS3 FEAC tab is available when the DS3 framing is set to C-Bit Parity

(see page 204).

From the test menu, tap Functions, and the FEAC tab.

Generated Messages

Allows to configure and send alarms/status information and control signals
(loopback commands) to other network elements.

Alarm/Status and Unassigned

Codeword allows the selection of the codeword alarm/status to be
generated either manually or continuously.

The FEAC message format is a 16 bit codeword
(0xxxxxx0 11111111) with the rightmost bit transmitted first. The
0xxxxxx0 represents the message codeword.
