format for the DSX-1 (DTE)
interface is correct.

2. Check that the DSX-1 cable

is securely attached at both
ends.

AIS at Network

An Alarm Indication Signal
(AIS) is received by Network
Interface 1 or 2. AIS is an
unframed, all ones signal.

1. Upstream T1 access unit is

transmitting AIS (keep-alive
signal).

2. The network is transmitting

an AIS.

1. Check status of upstream

T1 access unit(s).

2. Report problem to carrier.

AIS at DSX

An Alarm Indication Signal
(AIS) is received by the DSX-1
interface in slot

ss, port p. AIS

is an unframed, all ones
signal.

Check the DTE attached to
the DSX-1 interface.

EER at Network

n

The error rate of the received
network signal exceeds the
currently configured threshold.
This condition only occurs if
Network Interface 1 or 2 is
configured for ESF framing.
This condition clears when the
error rate falls below the
threshold value.

Contact network provider.

Yellow at Network

n

A yellow alarm signal is
received on Network
Interface 1 or 2.

1. Network cable problem.

2. Far-end T1 access unit has

lost framing sync on the T1
line.

3. T1 facility problem.

1. Check that your network

cable is securely attached
at both ends.

2. Check the status of the

far-end device.

3. Contact your network

provider.
