(2) In the event of any occurrence described in subsection (1), the person in
charge of a nuclear facility or the equipment containing the prescribed
substance or the person in possession of the prescribed substance, as the
case may be, shall
(a) immediately take all appropriate measures to prevent or
minimize exposure of any person to ionizing radiation [or radon
daughters] resulting from such occurrence; and
(b) comply with any instructions that may be given by the inspector
appointed for the place or area in which the occurrence has
taken place.
