3.8.5.1 Guardian

Comm Port: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Disabled, Com 1 to 9, Ethernet

Selects a computer RS-232 serial port or Ethernet port for communicating with the
Guardian controller. If a comm port is not installed, or is being used by another
program, an error message will be displayed, otherwise, the Version # for the
controller firmware is shown.

If Ethernet is selected as the Comm Port, Port and IP Address selection fields will
appear:

Ethernet Port: Shows the current IP port and allows changing it. Default
Ethernet Port is 2101.

IP Address: Displays the current IP address and allows changing it. The
default Guardian IP address is 192.168.1.200. For a direct connection, set the
computer’s IP address to be the same as the Guardian’s except the last group
must be different. For example, to communicate with a Guardian at the default
address, set the computer to 192.168.1.100.
