Function Generator—Sets the transition time for tapered wave shapes to
go from stop to run. 1- Begin Times
BTW/MPT—Sets the beginning taper time for tapered wave shapes.
Function Generator—Not used. 2- End Time
BTW/MPT—Sets the ending taper time for tapered wave shapes as they
reach the end of their counts.
Begin/End times with a command process
For MultiPurpose TestWare blocks employing a tapered segment shape, Begin and End Times define the
time it takes to taper the command at the beginning and end of each process. The following figure shows an
MPT block using a tapered segment shape that is interrupted with a hold and subsequently restarted.

Waveform without Soft Start/Stop—The waveform immediately begins oscillating at the full command amplitude
from the Target Setpoint.
Setpoint/Span Time Settings
The Setpoint/Span Times values set the time it takes to change to a new setpoint or span. The execution
time is proportional to full scale for Setpoint and 100% for Span. If the value has less distance to travel, the
execution time will be correspondingly less than the specified time.
