This diagnostic detects phase loss between the drive and the motor. When the

diagnostic is enabled and output phase loss is detected, a drive fault is logged (OPL is

displayed).

The output phase loss diagnostic can be disabled to avoid nuisance faults which may

occur, for example, when a small motor is used with a large Power Module.

This parameter can compensate for acoustic noise by allowing adjustment of the

switching frequency of the transistors in the inverter bridge.

Keeping the carrier frequency at 8 kHz will ordinarily provide the quietest motor

operation.

Setting the carrier frequency above 2 kHz on M/N 50R41xx, 50T41xx, 75R41xx,

75T41xx, and 125R41xx Power Modules results in the derating of the maximum

output current. With a 4 kHz carrier frequency, derate the Power Module maximum

output current by 20%. With an 8 kHz carrier frequency, derate by 40%.

See the GV3000/SE hardware reference manual for the Power Module ratings at a

2 kHz carrier frequency. See P.095 in this chapter which displays the maximum output

current rating of the drive. Note that the range is limited from 2 to 4 kHz on

M/N 200V41xx, 250V41xx, 300V41xx, 350V41xx, and 400V41xx Power Modules.
