For more information about this step, see "

Importing devices

."

The Select Port window only displays interfaces of FCoE switches that were imported to the fabric
to which the VSAN is added.

NOTE:

VFM automatically sets up a VSAN for the switch to which the selected interface belongs. If no
interface on the switch is in the added VSAN, VFM does not create a VSAN for the switch.

Synchronizing VSANs

VFM does not support direct synchronization of VSANs.
When you synchronize an FCoE switch, the VSAN configurations saved by the switch are automatically

synchronized to VFM (see "

Synchronizing FCoE switches

"). After the synchronization is complete, VFM

replicates the VSAN configurations on the FCoE switch or replace the VSAN configurations in VFM with

those on the switch. The copy of VSAN configurations on the FCoE switch is used when you modify
VSAN-VLAN mappings.
Rules for synchronizing VSAN configurations on an FCoE switch to VFM:

If a VSAN ID exists in both VFM and the FCoE switch, the VSAN configurations in VFM changes
by the following rules:

{

VSAN ID—Unchanged.

{

VSAN Name—Unchanged.

{

VLAN ID—Two VLAN IDs. One represents the VSAN-VLAN mapping on the FCoE switch, and
the other represents the VSAN-VLAN mapping in VFM.

{

VFC interfaces—Combination of VFC interfaces saved by VFM and the FCoE switch.

If a VSAN ID is saved only by the FCoE switch, VFM adds a new VSAN. The configurations of the
new VSAN in VFM are as follows:

{

VSAN ID—Same as the VSAN ID on the FCoE switch.

{

VSAN Name—Same as the VSAN ID.
